This Early Navajo Doll Has A Great Tin Concho Belt That Helps To Date It To The 1930s
– It has matching tin collar buttons and buttons down the front of her blouse
– She has a most amazing wig made of individual threads carefully tied into a large Navajo chong hairstyle. These were probably dark brown but have faded to a bluish gray
– She wears a velveteen blouse and a purple faded cotton skirt with a white encircling stripe
– Her clothing is machine stitched
– Her facial features are carefully stitched on
– Her rug loom holds a half finished rug in handspun Navajo wool with cotton string warps
– She sits on a sheep skin rug
– The base of the doll measures 6 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ tall
