  • Mohaves were a warlike tribe along the Arizona, Gila River who confronted early Mormon settlers
  • Horsehair wig slathered with rawhide glue covered by a cotton bandana
  • Reddish clay pottery painted with charcoal mineral paint and red ocher
  • This doll shows heavy firing clouds
  • She wears a grass apron with a wool blanket wrap and is bare-breasted
  • Earrings are 1740s – 1850s glass trade beads
  • Can see firing clouds on this piece from pit firing; this was not cured in the sun as some of these dolls were
  • 7 1/4″ tall
  • Native American Pottery
