This Is A Very Nicely Shaped Mudhead Rattle With A Wooden Handle Representing The Mudhead Clown.

  • It Is Seen In Nearly All Pueblo Ceremonies
  • The entire rattle is ocher red/brown with what appears to be natural ocher paint
  • Eyes, ears and protruding feathers from?the ears?are of carved wood
  • The rattle would be hung from the rafters of a home by the simple string threaded through the handle on the bottom
  • It has a good sound, is quite loud, and most likely filled with stones from an anthill
  • The rattle was collected from a Hopi Village on Second Mesa in the 1980s
  • It measures 15 1/2″ long x 5 1/2″ wide
  • Traditional Native American Items
