Circa 1900 Vintage Kiowa, Comanche Headstall With The Very Deep Silver Conchos With Rocker Engraving Along Edges And Open Centers

  • Vintage Kiowa, Comanche Headstall
  • These are typical of Kiowa and Comanche work.
  • They vary greatly from the more flat Navajo conchos usually entirely covered by design work.
  • The 3 conchos on the headstall range in size from 1 1/2″ to 2″ in diameter.
  • The top concho on each side of the headstall has hand-carved, scalloped leather rossettes.
  • All leather and buckles are original.
  • The bit is a 1900 – 1915 Mexican revolution era iron bit.
  • It has beautiful inlay covering the entire sides in silver and copper.
  • 2 copper coins enhance the joint of the mouthpiece.
  • Mouthpiece has 4 copper rollers.
  • Original chains hang from the mouthpiece.
  • Condition is excellent on both headstall and bit.
  • Headstall and bit 27″ long.
  • Mouth of bit is 4 1/2″ wide.
  • Curb chains hang an additional 12″ long.
  • Traditional Native American Items
