  • This Is A Great Old Collection Of Red And Black Venetian Glass Skunk Beads And Smaller White Padres And Red Glass Trade Beads Dating From The 1740s To Late 1800s
  • On Wider Straps Of Brain Tanned Buckskin Are dangling Thongs Of The Same Spread About 1″ Apart
  • These dangles are all tied off with original 1800s brass hawk bells and small deer dew claws at the ends. Most of them seat two beads above each end piece
  • The bells are varying sizes with the largest being 1 1/4″ wide
  • The dew claws are often used on tipis as Indian bells as they clack together in a wind making a pleasant rattling sound
  • This strap was either placed around a horses neck as a martingale or sometimes connected to a tipi door lacing pin as a sort of door bell for those wishing to enter a lodge
  • It was collected as being Northern Cheyenne
  • The strand measures 3′ 2″ long and is in excellent condition with?a darkened patina
